This week Spadesso sat down with Sue Cote from Salon Montage.
Sue brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the stylist chair and has served as a coach and mentor within the salon and spa industry for over a decade. In her career prior to opening Salon Montage, she spent time managing a salon brand with multiple locations, and she’s put that experience to good work. Sue’s hard work and experience has allowed her to craft a salon suite that is not only beautiful and inviting to clients, but is also warm and welcoming to her salon professionals.
Moving from the traditional salon to the salon suite environment, Sue’s main objective is empowering her team: she loves helping her stylists and therapists find their strength as business owners, and she loves seeing them thrive in an environment that asks them to set the pace to their goals.
Building a great environment for salon and spa professionals is not the only strength of Sue’s. Opening Salon Montage has also given Sue the opportunity to stand behind the chair and take clients again.
“It’s very rewarding, working with clients.” She explains as we sit together in her private salon suite that has both wonderful natural light and it’s own private shampoo chair. “I love seeing others happy.”
With an extensive background within the industry there really isn’t a service that sue can’t tackle. She loves taking a variety of clients and is great with kids. “I really love taking families, they’re fun!”
Sue’s Services & Strengths
Sue offers a variety of services that include haircuts, color, and hair extensions.
One of Sue’s specialties is helping clients find body and curl. It’s an art form that is really seeing a revival within the salon, but it’s something that our newest generation of stylists have had less exposure to. Sue’s experience can help you achieve beach waves and texture (for those that are less familiar, texturing services help add volume and body to straight or thinner hair types).
Why we love Sue
Sue is a true people person, and she’s passionate about helping others. She strives to create a warm, inviting environment that’s relaxing for both clients and spa professionals. You’ll feel this the minute you enter her salon suite—making you the center of her focus and ensuring you are comfortable. She won’t let you leave unless you feel pampered and beautiful.
She can meet the hair needs of your whole family (Moms, I know you’re just as excited about this as we are).
She can help you achieve that famous curl the hockey club has embraced.
Sue brings deep experience to your service, she can handle your haircare needs with professionalism and timeliness.
What to expect when you arrive
Salon Montage is on the south side of I-94’s 45th street exit. The front doors are on the south side of the building.
Once you make it inside, you can have a seat in their stylish lobby. The flower mural was a special import from a Ukrainian Company, a special touch that holds even more meaning now.
Sue’s private suite is on the South and West side of the salon.
She carries a robust selection of professional product from Aluram, which is a professional brand that’s based out of Minnesota.
