Meet Simplicity’s Massage Therapist: Brenna
Today we’re excited to introduce you to Brenna, Brenna’s the owner of Lavender Lotus Massage (by Brenna), located within Simplicity Salon & Spa right here in Fargo. Brenna started her massage career back in 2018, graduating from Josef’s School of Hair, Skin & Body in 2017. She’s been rockin’ her massage game at Simplicity since 2019.
Early into her career she discovered she was a deep tissue enthusiast. “Swedish Massage is great, but it’s more fun to find issues and really ‘dig’ into them.”
Her ideal client is someone that gives her something to work on. Don’t be afraid to give Brenna the toughest knots in your shoulders and back, she’s up for the challenge!
Brenna’s Journey to massage:
Brenna reflects on finding massage with a smile as she recounts a memory, “When I was a kid, my older sister would host sleepovers, and I’d want to join her. No one really wants their younger sibling to hang out with them and their friends, so I’d have to negotiate. I’d usually earn my way into the party with a massage for my sister. My sister likes to take credit as my earliest training in the profession.”
After giving college a try, Brenna realized she wanted to stretch her wings and find a community a little bigger than Minot, where she was attending college at the time. She decided on Fargo, and has been here ever since, “Fargo feels like home.” While living in Fargo, she started to explore her career options and what she wanted from professional life. Starting her research with “careers for shy people,” she found massage kept coming up. Thinking back to those early days with her sister, she felt it resonated with her past experience and decided to give it a go.

Brenna loves scary movies on a Friday night. She enjoys making wood-burn art and spends time with her 3 cats Chucky (yes, Chucky is definitely named after the terrifying red-headed doll), Ophelia, and Fred. *Fred happened to find Brenna, and came to her as ‘Fred,’ so it’s just a coincidence that Fred’s name also happens to be the same name as a certain nightmare on elm street. When she’s not taking care of her fur family, you’ll find her out with friends.
Brenna’s Massage recommendations:
Come to your appointment 10-15 minutes early so you can get the full enjoyment of your appointment. Many times, clients will show up 5 minutes prior, but that’s really not enough time to get through any paperwork or get settled onto the table before the start of your appointment. With just five minutes, you’ll feel rushed.
Most clients schedule a 60-minute appointment, but if you’re new Brenna recommends scheduling a 90 minute appointment because it’s such a great deal (first time clients receive $10 off the appointment).

We took a few minutes to chat with Kimber, owner of Simplicity. Kimber is an experienced stylist and permanent makeup artist who decided to open her own salon concept in 2017. Similar to how an artist with a blank canvas can see potential, Kimber has a knack for doing the same with hair and faces. She loves doing full makeovers, and has done several throughout the years. “I love creating, and I pride myself in knowing faces and what will work best for the individual. Makeovers are a lot of fun!”
Kimber has put a lot of time and effort into sourcing the best for her clients. She carries Jane Iredale (if you’re unfamiliar, it’s one of the TOP makeup lines that’s know for skin health) and she carries Milbon. Milbon is THE original Japanese Straightening System, scientifically formulated and focused on high quality ingredients. You won’t find this brand just anywhere, it’s worth discussing with Kimber if you have damaged hair or have texture needs and wants.
